I do believe it likely, that 3d printers may very well soon change the entire world as we know it.
Much as the internet did back in the 90s, 3d printing may completely alter the world of buisness and daily living, to the point, where we will soon wonder how we ever lived our lives before this.
Imagine you're only available pair of good pants splits, and you now have 3 minutes left until the job interview.
Of course there is no need to worry. Because now can just print a new pair of pants.
"Lets see. Green would be nice. 100 Percent wool. Cuffs. No Pleats. Big pockets."
And youre off to the meeting.
Your great aunt Sady just lost her cane and she wants to go for a walk. Oh. Thats no problem. Just press a few buttons. wait 3 minutes, and Presto! Aunt Sadie is up and about going to visit Uncle Morris with her brand new top of the line cane.
Your out of bowls this morning! You've got to be at work in 5 minutes. Good grief! How will you get through the daily grind with out your morning fix of toasty-0s?
No need to fret! Just print out a fresh new bowl.
And all this, is from you, the consumers perspective.
But what about stores that sell these items?
How is this going to impact their buisiness?
Well, on the one hand, they can print out many things on site as opposed to having to wait for new shipments to arrive.
But also, think about this.
Why should I bother going to Walmart if I can now get what ever it is I need printed at home?
True. You can't print everything.
But the things you can print are going to either have to be sold for pennies or at a drastically reduced price.
We may be seeing the price of everything go down a whole lot.
This is good news for us consumers of course. But bad news for retailers.
Another big upside of 3d printers will be designers and inventors of new products not having to go to China to manufacture their product.
Now any thing you come up with, including all the screws and parts, can be printed right here from the comfort of your living room.
All this being said, we still can't know for sure, how big of an impact this new technology will have on our lives just yet.
As a famous man once said "Let's wait and see."
